The second SMASH Course of EU Grundtvig was realizete 21st to 27th July by Antonin Jancarik (department of mathematic) and Katerina Jancarikova (Departmen Biology and Environmental Studies) at Charles University - Faculty of Education.
The participants from Romania, Greece, Portugal, Spain and Czech republic were training in competences for communication with parents.
In the mornings there were lectures and scenario presentations and afternoons the participants have visited outdoor activities in Ecocentrum Toulcuv dvur, Prague ZOO, National Museum, Prague Castle etc.
SMASH (Success in Math and Science at Home), was proposed in response to the need for reaching out to parents and informing them about new developments in mathematics and science education. Taking into account best practices in mathematics and science education, adult education, and distance learning, the project aims to enrich European children's learning of mathematics and science by providing parents with guidance on how to enhance their children's learning experiences.
